Unique – Ammox

Toxic build-up of nitrogenous wastes like, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate is regular problem in modern shrimp aquaculture systems. In addition to metabolic excretion, ammonia is also released by the disintegration of uneaten feed in the pond. The toxicity of unionized ammonia increases at higher pH values and temperature. Ammonia diffuses through cell membrane affecting the nervous system leading to shrimp death. Ammonia is also known to impose stress and cause immune suppression making shrimp more susceptible to diseases. In nature, these nitrogenous toxic substances are converted to nitrate and nitrogen gas through microbes involved in nitrogen cycle mainly through nitrification and denitrification processes. Unique-AMMOX contains environmental microbes which can nitrify and denitrify toxic nitrogen in brackishwater aquaculture systems. The product is well suited to work in wide salinity ranges of shrimp culture systems.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS :

Enriched growth of selected environmental microbes isolated from brackish water ecosystem which are capable to oxidize ammonia and nitrite.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION :

Dilute one litre of UNIQUE-AMMOX in appropriate quantity of pond water and sprinkle across one acre of pond. For best results, apply the UNIQUE-AMMOX once in a week throughout the culture period.
